Today, she's sharing her insights on design, travel, and fashion.

Please tell us a little about yourself!

My husband and I live in New Orleans with our two cats and dog. Aside from our family ties to the area, we fell in love with the spirit of this city - the arts and music, the old world architecture, and of course the wonderful food. In my spare time, I love to hike and camp, craft and garden. I recently picked up learning the upright bass. In my professional time, I am a senior interior designer at EskewDumezRipple.

What is it about interior design that inspires you the most?

The spaces where we spend 90% of our time can have a profound effect on how we think and feel, consciously and subconsciously. Our environment can inspire, energize, help us heal, or put us on edge. To me, interior design isn't just crafting beautiful spaces, but creative problem solving and crafting a narrative for the way people experience the world.

How would you describe your personal style?

My style is minimal, classic with a touch of grunge. I like to keep it simple and comfy, mixing and matching timeless staple pieces with pops of color and edgy details. Winona Ryder is my style icon.

We learned that you love to travel a lot! Can you share one of your favorite places you loved visiting and what about that place that you were drawn to the most?

It’s so hard to pick just one place! We visited Iceland last summer for ten days. The landscape is so unlike anywhere else I’ve been - the lava fields where nothing but moss grows, incredible waterfalls, black sand beaches… For part of our trip, we rented a camper van and drove around the southern portion of the ring road. There are so many magnificent hikes that can be accessed right off the highway. We were able to kayak in a glacial lagoon and got to stand on an iceberg!

Do you have any hot takes on interior design that you personally like to practice?

As with my personal style, I avoid using hyper-trendy pieces and finishes in my work and my own space. Everything old is eventually new again, but trendy picks can make a space feel too era-specific too quickly. I like to practice and promote anti-consumption, so the less you have to turn around, the better! Instead focus on high quality designs with excellent details that you can mix and adapt in the future.

How are you styling the Audrey Midi Dress?

I layered the Audrey dress over a black skater dress and sheer tights, and oxblood combat boots. I’m wearing a minimalist gold necklace and charm bracelet to finish it off with some sparkle.

What is it about the Hemloya brand that you admire?

Watching the journey of the creator and my friend Samiha as she pursues her dream of turning her art into beautiful fashion pieces fills me with so much joy! She has built her brand completely from the ground up; her growth and determination always inspires me.

How does wearing your Hemloya piece make you feel?

I feel feminine, comfortable, and like I’m making my presence known!
